Heated Seats dont' work - Read This...
I did some troubleshooting earlier trying to determine why my heated seats wouldn't come on. Neither switch would illuminate. So, I checked the fuse - fuse was blown. Replaced fuse - fuse blows instantly. OK. I have a short in the circuit.
I disconnected cigar lighter, the heated seats, and then tried a new fuse...BAM! The fuse blows again. W.T.F. I had only one more 20A fuse left so, my next guess better be good.
Eventually, I found that the wire the runs into the drivers side sun visor (vanity mirror) light was shorting out on the screw that holds it to the roof. I un-screwed the three screws, dropped the sun-visor exposing the wiring and noticed that the wire's insulation had been stripped. I wrapped it up with some electrical tape - popped in my last fuse and VIOLA!
Now my heated seats, cigar lighter, vanity mirror lights, and interior lights are all functional!
I hope my experience can help someone else out!
