I have a dog stuck, and the landrover dog gate installed. The door will not unlock. It makes the noise, but does nothing

I have already held the lock and unlock master. Again, it makes the noise, but does nothing.

My Rover DiscoII does this...check the rear handle , latch....to see if it releases...comes back down...hit your lock-unlock on your key a couple times...if the latch handle doesn't come back down ...use a screw driver or? to pull the finger latch back down and try again....works for my Disco and then you need to re-lube all inside!
