Default Help Tail Gate Door Wont Open

2001 Disco II... tail door wont open. Handle compressess but wont release the door. Worked fine before, just stopped. I checked and tried to open from the inside and it wont budget although when I pull the interior handle it seems to unlock. I checked the child lock and it is NOT engaged either. Either way, from the outside it should open.

Anyone had this problem? LR Disco gurus- help. What to do now?

Update: Thanks to the forums- Its fixed.

I removed the logo that covers the handle and hit it with WD40. Voila- works like before.

Had no idea the logo came out to access the door handle mechanism.

These are some VERY quirky vehicles....

Love hate....
