Default HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Hey everybody! I have a 2000 discovery II and out of the blue my oil light flashed on followed immediately after a click noise started. I went and filled the oil up at the nearest gas station. It stop for a bit then the light flashed on once again followed by the noise. This clicking gets faster as I accelerate and slows down when braking Can anybody tell me what this may be and if its going to coast a redic amount to fix?

tom:.

Stop driving the truck right now, unless you want to loose an engine. Are you leaking oil, how much have you had to add, how often do you change the oil?

I agree do not drive it with the oil light on at all! Oil pumps rarely fail on these cars, the oil pickup tube may have fallen off, or is blocked. ensure you have the correct oil filter installed. have you had any recent services done I.E front cover or rear main seals?

What your lack of attention may have cost you an engine.
What do you do, check it once a year if it needs it or not?
4.5 quarts down, theres not any reason a person could let it drop that much.

How many miles on the engine?

If it is still noisy when full, you are probably looking at replacing many parts, or the engine. Find your self a good mechanic.
