Default Help trouble shooting

Mi was driving my Land Rover discovery 2 and I was coming to a stop sign and my Rover lurched as I stopped, when I proceeded to go when it was my turn my Rover wouldn’t move, it was like it was in park . I looked at the dash and had a symbol of two gears with the letters TC below them. I had no problems before this happened. Any ideas what is going on with it?

Your transfer case has come out of gear. Check the high-low range lever.

So how did you get out of the intersection? Did it clear itself or did you have it towed.

. We pushed it to the side of the road and had it towed from there. It’s a 2000 Land over discovery 2

Sorry, I don't know where my head was this morning. Transfer case would have been accompanied by a chime and would have been a different light -- kind of an orange X thing. TC is Traction Control.

The following is copied from the Land Rover service manual (the 'RAVE'):

The traction control warning lamp within the instrument pack utilises a red LED and a clear legend. The traction control warning lamp informs the driver that the traction control system is enabled. The warning lamp is hard wired to the SLABS ECU. The SLABS ECU controls the warning lamp on or off via a high or low voltage signal to the instrument pack.
When the ignition is switched on, the SLABS ECU illuminates the LED to provide a self-check, providing there is no fault it will remain illuminated for 3 seconds or until the ignition is switched off.

The SLABS ECU is one of the computers in the truck. It sounds to me like a sensor is sending a fault warning to the computer. You will need to borrow a code reader to see if there are any codes in the system that will point you in the right direction.
