Default Help-Won't come out of park.

I have a 97 disco and for the last week when I try and put it in drive it wont come out of park, the shifter just won't move. After trying several times it would finally go in drive. Now for the last two days I've been trying to get it out of park with no luck. Any ideas?

You probably don't have any brakes lights either and if that is the case, you need to replace your brake switch up by the brake pedal.

the shifter get a signal from the brake switch letting it know that the brakes are applied before it will shift. Check the function of the brake switch. u may have a release that u can push to manually release the shifter.

You're right brake lights don't work. I found the brake switch and was able to get it out of park. Is the switch supposed to be mounted somewhere because right now its just kind of hanging there?
