180 stat? 219F at 50 mph? Paper towel stays on grille at idle? Stays on when AC is switched on? Belt route? Fan blades reversed (cupped side toward engine block is correct)?
Ill ask around for one of those temperature guns and get some numbers.

New roaring (enough to pull condenser fans) fan clutch, correct routing, and correct blade. 180 degree thermo fo sho.

For example tonight, the truck warmed up normally and floated around from 175 to 185 for ten minutes, then starting getting warmer untili got home. By the time i was in the garage it was at 199 after a small idle of backing up

They sell the IR thermostats at the big box hardware stores, like $29. More accurate than the Mark I palm reader, and doesn't leave fried finger prints....
