there's a lot of junk out there.blown head gaskets, drive shaft blew hole in trans, windows dont work, key broke in ignition so you just have to use half key to start and on and on or they have a long list of repairs from the last 3 years and have a list of thing for new owner to do.I want a d1.I know they are old but damn this is going to be journey.

i was looking for a new truck, a disco wasnt even on my mind at this point.. i was looking at 4runners and LC80s. one day i saw a disco 1 listed for 750 bucks thinking it was too good to be true, i went to check it out and it was a pile that wouldnt even start. i got home, looked on craigslist some more and found the one i bought. i thought i got a really good deal at the time but after seeing more ads of what you can get for your money it was a fair price.

Having been away from rovers for several years, I got the itch again. I must have looked at 30 before finding my 2002 d2 w/ 105k miles. You would not believe the pile of crap I had to go thru. People would advertise "mint" , "like new"..... Only to find them to be neglected and needing tons of work. Take your time and you will know "one" when you find it. Just check all the electrics, take it for a long test drive and make sure the head gasket was done already and that there are no coolant leaks.

went looking at a RR ad ready good shape no rust, when i got there it was all raise up on the air suspension.
So climb up on the running board to check the top and apparently the sun roof got stuck open, so someone took a sawzall or grinder cut the roof peeled it forward, closed the roof and caulked closed again.
i guess they didn't know you could close it with an Allen wrench, but it had no rust.
