How much poop am I in?
I have read a few previous posts here, but I am still trying to figure out if I have one big problem or a couple of small ones (or some other mix). Our Disco II had water on the passenger floorboard a few months back which i found after investigating the sound of water sloshing around. It did not smell like anything other than water/mildew. I used a coat hanger and stuck it through the floor plug. I noticed dripping underneath from the plug after that and there has not been anymore water on the floorboard. The sloshing sound of water is still present, though, and it sounds like it is happening in the center console.
The heater stopped blowing hot air (still blows cold) and my wife said she heard a gurgling noise. I haven't heard the gurgling noise, but did notice that there was a significantly loud whining noise from the engine compartment when it is started cold. The noise lasts a few minutes and then goes away. I pulled the center console apart today and found what looks to be water stains in the gray sponge-like insulation/padding, but the carpet and the insulation do not feel damp at all. I also pin-pointed the whining noise to be the secondary air pump in the engine compartment. I saw on another post that the noise may get louder in the SAI if water gets into it. Are these things related?
Okay another important thing. As i was searching for the whining noise, i discovered that the coolant was low. Low as in i couldn't see any in the overflow reservoir. I filled it to the marker and have not noticed any leaks. I have seen in other posts that coolant could be leaking due to a bad heater core. Again, are these things related?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Well it would have been good if you had started reading up on your Disco earlier, would have saved some effort.
You have a coolant leak which is causing air to make the water sound in your dash. You also have some plugged up a/c drain plug tubes which has caused the water to build up under the carpet and you really need to deal with the wet floor and carpet or you will have rust issues and a carpet that will need to be replaced.
Call me when you get a chance and I'll walk you thru what you need to do this weekend.

Mike, I went through the instructions you gave me (three times) and I'm still hearing the water gurgling sound. I noticed in some other threads that others say you should unfasten the overflow reservoir and elevate it. It doesn't seem to me that this would really be necessary since I am seeing the fluid come out of the bleed screw, indicating that it is working. The last two times, i kept filling the overflow (slowly) while fluid came out the bleed screw just to see if i might get to a point where i could see some air bubbles come out, but i just got a steady stream of fluid. I also have the front end of the truck jacked up so that it is about 6" above the rear. What do i need to do to get all the air out? Will elevating the overflow give enough pressure to force out air bubbles that i can't get to with the tank in place?
The gurgling sound actually sounds louder now. The last time I also got a check engine soon light. When i hooked up my code reader, i got a P0303 code "Cylinder 3 misfire detected." Is this related? Could this be a gasket failure at that cylinder? I'm not sure what my next steps need to be. Regardless, is the truck still safe to drive with this code?
I should also mention that the gurgling sound was not present when i started the truck right after bleeding, sitting stationary (and still on jacks). As soon as I put it in gear and started driving, the gurgling/swooshing sound started.

sounds like you may have a few different problems, the gurling in the dash is coolant/air pockets in the heater core, you may have a leak, suck it down or press test sytem for leaks, head gaskets, intake gasket, timing chain cover, water pump, hoses, heater core, next problem misfire #3? check your plugs and wires on all cylinders check for burnt wires esp on the ends, you still may have a exhaust valve issue, and also a leaking head gasket, pressurising the cool system....good luck!
