RE: idle control valve
I don't know what the codes are. I'll have to bring it to a shop for that. At that point they'll
probably just tell me what's wrong and I'll probably be able to fix it. Is there any other way to retrieve the codes? I'll look at the vaccum lines but I didn't hear any leaks. And I'll clean the t/body plate. I'm thinking that idle control is shot. 120K....
how much for one of those?
Thanks

RE: idle control valve
hi guys, the idle air control valve needs to be set by steps on a diagnostic machine, you could try yourself but im not surehow your rules are on emmisions, there is an allen key in the plemium chamber, probly covered by a blanking plug just wind it out slowly untill it idles nice but i still think u need the light to be cleared, please post me back and let me know how u go

RE: idle control valve
Got it! Thanks for the help. I removed and cleaned the unit and cleaned the throttle plate. The plate seemed to be the key.
I didn't have to adjust that allen, but it's nice to know it's there. The truck is running really well now. The check engine light did come on and go off so maybe there is something else that needs to be done.
Again, thanks for the help.
