Default Leaving chargers plugged in?

I just bought a 2008 Range Rover HSE. I'm used to leaving my car phone charger plugged in at all times. Obviously my phone is only plugged INTO the charger when I am driving. The manual for the Range Rover says that chargers should not be left plugged in because they can drain the battery even when not in use & the car is off. How significant is this suggestion? Do others leave their car chargers plugged in and not notice a big issue with it draining the battery? Thanks!

Welcome to the club. The advice is correct if the charger isn't via the ignition switch, which most/many aren't. Chargers plugged into the cigar lighter will drain your battery over a couple of days as the charger without the phone in most cases draws down a small amount of power as does the vehicle security system etc It's always best to unplug anything that's not in use unless it's defo used every single day but even then it's a good precaution.
