Default Limp Mode

Hello all again!
today is a new issue lol ugh sooo as I was leaving a friends house my 03 Land Rover Disco 2 went into limp mode, (I didn't know what the D flashing and the lit up green S & M meant til I searched here) now I see ppl saying it could be all sorts of things? Last thing replaced on mine was the brake light switch and then right before that the Crankshaft position sensor. Now I did put it in park and cut my car off at the end of the driveway and waited a sec cut it back on etc and the lights were no longer on and I drove home but if this keeps happening then what should I do?

First thing to check is your battery voltage and best to do after sitting overnight prior to 1st start. Voltage should be about 12.7 vdc. Low system voltage can cause the limp issue.

My S&M wouldn't flash and D2 go limp until I went into reverse then back to drive. Started happening occasionally the progressed to every time. Ended up replacing the x,y,z switch with a good used one.

See now when I was in my friends driveway as saying goodbye etc I had already started it then I put it in drive and then my friend kept talking and so I put it in reverse to go back a little then back to park and that's when I noticed the lights flashing. I've been under the hood since home found out my air filter was pretty nasty so I bought a new one changing it, I did clean the terminals etc and reconnect the battery so I will drive as normal for now and if it keeps happening I will go to the XYZ and where is this XYZ located? Not really sure what it even is lol never heard of it but I also have never owner a Land Rover til march of this year either so I'm learning tons of fun things lol

Is that a possibility? Will your rover act like that being low on transmission fluid? I still haven’t got it corrected and as of right now it won’t even start yet prior to changing my o2 sensors a few wks back it was okay just still expierencing limp mode and hard starts and it shutting off sometimes outta nowhere even while driving

I don't know. However, it seems possible to me since the car does prevent you from starting it when other conditions that could cause serious damage are present. Perhaps someone who knows can tell us if low transmission fluid/oil could generate the M and/or S lights.

Mine had done the whole S M limp mode and the D on the shifter did that too before hand and it was because I put the shifter in D way to fast so try turning it off… cranking it then slowly putting it in D idk though happened to me before but like you said new problem each week and I’m on my new week full of problems lol
