Default local bone yard

Anyone know if there is a rover yard in or near north Texas (d/fw area)? Preferably one that doesn't insist on pricing used parts as if they were cast in gold.

Cheers!

you-pull-da-partz (self service) yards will be the lowest, they price the same for an ECU if it comes from a Ford F150 or a BMW, usually. Some large yards have their inventory on line, others can tell you if they have any on the yard, but not what has already been carried off by the parts vultures... usually a dollar or two to get in (and make it a binding contract that if you get hurt you are on your own). LKQ runs some yards in Dallas, and the one near me is reasonable ($49 for a radiator).

No. I have called around to just about every salvage or junk yard in the North Dallas area and all have said that they very rarely ever get a Land Rover in. Oklahoma has a large Rover yard, and supposedly there are a few yards in Ft Worth. Best bet I've found are the Craigslist ads, there are a few Rovers on Craigslist being sold for under $1000 as parts cars.

Also, the Texas Rovers group may know more on parts locations.

It may not be that local but hit up lincoln Tarantino from rover bones. He prolly has what you need and if you doesn't he'll get it on the cheap. Might help to offset the shipping, roverbones.net roverboneyard.com

Correct diagnosis saves a lot more money then used parts.
