Default Locked out

hi i have a 2000 reg landrover. and i cant open it. the only manual lock being on the drivers door is broken and my key fob doesnt seem to be opening the car. i have been told this could be due to a flat battery on the car or very low. is there any way of me opening the bonnet without getting in or a latch somewhere to release a door? any ideas would be great. thanks

Ouch. If it is a flat battery, your best option is to get underneath the truck, and boost the battery by connecting the (+) side of a good battery, or a jump pack to the (+) post on the starter (which leads directly to the battery), and the (-) side of a good battery or a jump pack to the engine block. That should be enough to re-energize the security and keyless entry systems.

Then charge and start your vehicle as you normally would.

Here's a pix of the starter wire, the big one.
