LR2 electric issues
Hello, I have a 2008 LR2 with about 120k mikes. There are two separate issues that have been a thorn in my side.
1) Sometimes the fuel gauge will read 1/4 full when I just filled the tank, the led will tell me the gas cap is off or missing but it’s tight. Also, the back hatch opens every time you open a door, before you start it. Once you start the vehicle you can open the doors all day while running and it doesn’t pop open. It even pops open even when the car is off and no ones in it. At night I will glance out the window and see the interior light is on, I go outside and the back hatch is popped. I am wondering if it has something to do with a certain relay. Any insight would be helpful. All these issues I know tie into the electric system.
2) In warm weather the car will overheat. It isn’t a gradual overheat but if you’re driving in traffic it’ll spike right up to the red. I turn on the heat and obviously it will come down. I already changed the thermostat and it didn’t fix the issue. I flushed the radiator as well. I also always have a smell of radiator fluid but no signs of leaks so I’m thinking it’s burning up on the block. My next swap is going to be the water pump as well as another thermostat because I got an engine light and the code was a P1028 which is a coolant issue. Wondering if I recieved a bad part from supply.
Any help, thoughts or ideas would be great. Thanks.
