I had my CJ joint done over a month ago. It broke and he admitted he did not realize there were two areas he should have put lubricant in so that is why it broke. Fixed for free.
Over three weeks later I get it back for the second time and here is what I am dealing with now. I did not notice if it was leaking right away and there is no problem driving and no sound. I wiped some away and it does not leak when sitting only driving. I can't take it back to him he wont' do it right again and I can't take the stress. Any ideas about what could cause this? I think I will have to take to dealer. Thanks Rover gods. K.
Looks as though the hub seal is not installed correctly and allowing fluid from the diff/axle to flow out. Needless to say (I hope) if you allow this to continue you will run your front diff dry and then all sorts of bad things happen.
Put this in the D1 section and you'll probably get more responses. You should also put the model/year/mileage of your vehicle in your signature so folks can understand your question and situation a bit better.
I did have it towed to the dealership. I am glad to know it may be seal. I thought something like that. I did not drive it much and knew I shouldn't after seeing the leak.

Its quite a simple fix and you'd really have to try to **** it up.
