Personally I think full syn is a waste of money, unless you are driving 25k or more a year and need to go 10k on oil changes.
Otherwise a heavy duty oil will do just fine, like Rotella 15w-40.
I found an ad in this week Autozone special for the Rotella. the picture of the ad says, diesel motor oil, would it be okay for me to use for my 2000 disco (non-diesel?)

Shell Rotella is diesel motor oil.
Yes it is safe to use in your gasoline engine.
It is formulated with extra cleaners, anti-wear and other heavy duty additives.
In a over the road diesel engine it will last 20-25,000 miles before it needs to be changed.
If its good enough for that, than its more than good enough for us. (all though I recommend 5,000 mile oil changes)

Regarding the Shell Rotella 15w-40 that has been recommended, is that for the Rotella T Triple Protection? they have different products so not sure which to go with. I see they also have the T6 Full Synthetic 5W-40 and T5 10W-40, 10W-30.

Not knowing where you live....I recommend the 15w-40 for the summer (or warmer climates where it is warm all year) and the 5w-40 for the winter.
T6, Triple T, T-whatever...non of that matters...pick the weight for the climate that you live in or are expecting for the majority of your oil change.
I use the 15w-40 in the summer and the 5w-40 in the winter.
The 5w-flows better in the cold and the 15w-wont thin out as fast when hot.

Thank you. I'm in North Texas. Hot and humid summers. Winters are nothing like they are up North. Anywhere from the 20's to 60's with the occasional days in the teens and some freezes now and then.

Then 15w-40 year around is perfect for you.
