Default My Discovery 2 has imobilized help me please?

My land rover discovery series 2 2001 had been stood for 7-8 months over winter and the engine was knackered so we took it out and put another in same year and it wont start tried to put EKA code in and still wont start? the engine will turn over on starter motor switch for about 5 seconds then cuts out but wont start on key. anyone help?

have you checked for fuel?

yes fuel, compression and spark would be nice to know!!!

The fuel is about half a tank and I forgot to mention that the hydraulics have fallen do the land rover has gone down really low. I will reply later about compression because my dad will tell me as I know nothing about that.

c
check for fuel pressure not the fuel gauge what about spark pull a plug and ground it, turn key and crank eng should see spark.do you hear the pump come on when you turn the key?
