Default Mystery electrical plug discovery 2...

So I am starting to just check over my discovery ii (2004 HSE) and get her ready for winter... And I saw this plug. I have no idea what it is and it's not hooked to anything(!) it's on the drivers side above the firewall but under the hood , obviously. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?! Just wondering if it's supposed to have another plug hooked into it! Also there was a little plastic "cover" lying next to the plug. Not sure how I ever missed this before, but no clue as to what it is. See pics for details...
Thanks in advance!!!

I would take a look at my Disco for you, but I am travelling. It could be the connector for the heated windshield option.

I agree with the heated windshield.

There should be one on the pass side also.
