NAV Screen went dim and now Dark Grey!

NAV Screen went dim and now Dark Grey!
Have 2008 LR3 HSE and the navigation screen (street map) dims and goes off for a couple of minutes then comes back on and repeats itself at will!
Has anyone had this challenge and how did you fix it? Could not find anything on You tube. Thought I'd ask before I pull the dash apart.
