I was wondering if you could help. I own a td5 auto 2001

Yesterday it was driving fine then I went to pull away fromsome lights

& the revs went up but the car only crawled along. Iturned the car off

For about 10 mins and it was fine for a min then the sameproblem.

It selects all gear fine. Any ideas & repair cost.

 

Transmission fluid color? Dark red with lots of black particles in it (they show up on paper towel) could mean clutch disks in transmission are very worn. Tranny fluid that is very dark and smells like a burned coffee pot is also a sign of worn disks inside.

Ever change tranny fluid and filter? Even check fluid level?

A breaker yard might be able to sell you a used tranny.
