New Guy
Hello All. I am new here and have been browsing. THanks for the info, and some have already helped and to that, thanks. Now, I come to the LR family from a Jeep GC. I liked the trucked, but it seemed to fall apart on me over time, and was not worth the trouble. Bought a Disco II only 2 years newer and it seems BRAND NEW. Ga milage issomehting to be determined however. I can almost WATCH the gauge go down. Is there anything thaty can help this? What Octane am I to use?
side not, I DO NOT have a hevy foot either.
Thanks all!

Welcome from Space Coast Rovers of Melbourne, FL
premium gas.
How new are the O2 sensors?
Rovers don't get GC mileage. has to do with the weight. what is bad? 10mpg or 16mpg? they are rated 12/16... I switched to master craft MT 235/85/16 tires that run 80psi and that helped 2 mpg.
I had a GC once. car-like SUV. GC is 1/4th the truck of the Rover. I don't mind jeeps on gravel roads but they have serious limitations. it will take $20K+ of upgrades to make the GC similar to the rover offroad -- and it will never have the type of frame. positive about the GC is the cheaper part cost and general availability. Sometimes my wife misses the GC but I really dont.

Most Discos get 11 to 14 in town and 14 to 17 hwy.
You will get less with larger/ heaver tires and other off road mods.
The gas needs to be 91 or better.
Synthetic oils help a little in the gear boxes and motor keep a
clean air filter and intake.
