I have a 2017 Discovery.

There was an issue with water getting into car from the windshield seal failing. When that happened, the car would start but the gear shift **** would not lift so we could start car but not drive.

So we had the car towed to our house.
then when car arrived, I tried to start again and it started right up. But still shifter wouldn't rise. so i turned off again.

Then car sat for a day, and I went to start again and now it says the car isn't in park so I can't start it at all.

But, the dashboard does have a P showing it as being in park.

The shifter **** is still not rising either.

I did disconnect battery and tried to reset, that didn't help.

I did put the car in tow neutral and it moves fine. then removed the tow neutral and we are back to having same issue.

I did get battery tested and fully charged. Battery is full and in good condition.

Any bright ideas?

The car is totally dried out now, it's been over a week of car sitting.
