Default Odometer Reading

My son has a 2001 Discovery. In September, he had an oil change on his car and the odometer had a reading of 93,333 miles. Somehow in the last few weeks it changed to 153,000. He only drives this car to school and back which is about 5 miles. He wold have had to drive 1000 miles a day to reach 153,000 miles. Has anyone had an experience with an odometer malfunction of this type. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get this corrected?
THanks

Looks like it switched to kilometers. 93,333 miles is 150,204 km.

I cant recall how to switch the message center....try a search? Did the climate control switch to Celsius as well?

You will need to take it to the dealer or other shop that has a scanner that can reset your truck back to the proper mileage.
