Default Outside air sensor

I have 2009 Land Rover LR2 HSE (120,000 miles) and the outside air temperature read out on the dash after an hours drive (50 miles) reads 140-145 deg. It starts out normally but rises a couple of degrees every couple of minutes. When idling at a stop light the temperature rolls down to as low as 130 deg. Car runs and drives normally, coolant is at normal level and reads correctly on the dash. No fault codes on the dash, sensor gone bad? Re- calibrate cpu? What do you think?
Thanks Bob
