Default Over tighten transmission bolts

Hey all,

I recently performed the 90k transmission service on my 2003 Disco 2 and when I replaced the transmission pan I tighned the bolts to 30 - 40 ft lbs. later I found it was only supposed to be 8 lbs. it's not leaking, but should I be concerned? Can I loosen and re tourqe? Or do I need to get a new gasket and start over?

Thanks everyone!

If its not leaking, leave it be. If you loosen and re-torque, you will need a new gasket, as the current gasket has already been compressed. I'm really surprised that at 40 lbs, none of those little bolts broke!
