Maybe you were low in the first place.Check your hoses, also you might want to go to the dreaded "discoweb" for more answers

Good change you have already damaged the engine. Don't drive it for any reason, don't take it to a dealer, find a local Rover shop and have it towed.
Get back to us with what is wrong and a estimate.

HOLD Everything,
The part for the t/body is $24 the T/stat is $18, they are putting the screws to you, go do this your self.

holy **** we dont charge that much.

a thermostat costs around 100 tops with less then an hour install and throttle body heater costs around 40 bucks and its less then .7 install.

I bet the heads are leaking and they havent bothered to raise the vehicle or look at the radiator or anything else.

get it away from them, seriously. I am dealer tech and I see alot of independant shops that dont know rovers overcharge customers by throwing hundreds of extra parts to pad the bill. they saw you coming a mile away and are throwing you a bone.

oh and bleed the system and then fill it up and then check to see if it still overheats.
