I have a 99 Disco II with a P1171 that just came on. My milage is 92000. I have not done any real work on it in the year I have owned it except changing the MAF when I got codes a month after buying it, the milage then was 89000. I read other posts, but the seem to have other codes with them not just one. Any ideas?

 

what type of MAF did you put in?

maf codes only cause
four codes. 0171,0174,0172,0175 and two in trans ecu 0734,0733

that lean code is caused by an actual lean condition. can be broken exhaust studs. broken exhaust manifold. leaking intake gaskets.

seen the upper part of the cat at the flange rot a bit causing the problem as well as the lower intake causing an air leak and sucking in oil at the same time.

 

I am now hearing a whistle noise on deceleration from the drivers side rear of the motor? It changes pitch with throttle. What is back that way to cause this. I reset the check engine light when I read the code and it has not come back in a good week.

 

sounds like you have an air leak somewhere.
