Default Poor idle after warm weather start...misfire

I have a 98 disco1 with 120K. After a run and a short turn off ,like hoppiing in the store,it will start but idle very rich and if you try to drive off it will stumble and misfire. Letting it run a bit before taking off and nursing the throttle to keep the revs up all will clear up. I have cleaned the MAF, changed the thermostat, new fuel temp sensor, and new coolant temp sensor. It will throw P1179 and P1177 which from my research has to do with MAF misbehaving (although I get no MAF codes). If I don't nurse it at the restart, the resulting misfire will throw codes P0301,P1316, and P1313.I drive this vehichle frequently , minimum 15 mile trips and several 300 mile runs in which at refueling I usually keep it running so I can pull away without pissing someone off.
I have had an occasional difficult start , and on one occasion in desparation I removed the MAF connector and it started right away. I have cleaned the connector which lead me to thinking about grounds, I am wondering if anybody knows where the ground is that might affect the MAF, or how about restance values that I should read at the connector. Sorry about the wordiness!!

Your MAF is not the problem, granted, unhooking it improves how the engine runs only because it is causing the ECU to come out of closed loop, shuting down something other then the MAF allowing it to run better.
Your codes, 301 # 1 cylinder misfire
1177 and 1179 Max, negative FMFR correction
1316 and 1313 Cat damages

Lead me to think that there is something else going on. How old are the plug wires?

Hi Mike,
Sorry I didn't mention they are new, (3 months old) new plugs also.
It is a very temperature sensitive thing, both ambient and engine temp. When ambient is cold, like 10-20 F. ...no problem. The freeze frame on my OBD reader tells me the engine temp is usually low when it throws the P1313 code (last time was 159 degrees F).
It also shows that fuel system 1 status as "open loop" and Fuel system 2 status as "closed loop" When warmed up it runs like a champ.
The typical scene is at ambient 28-32 F it starts ok, runs ok. Stop engine for a few minutes and restart will be a bit shaky and idle speed drops , might stall unless you nurse the throttle, drive off leaving wisps of blue smoke and maybe a few misfires. I usually sit and let it warm up.
Thanks for your quick response.
John
