Default power stearing

Im fifteen and I have a 1996 land rover discovery. it started leaking powerstearing fluid lake crazy around the pittman arm on the bottom of the power stearing box and i was wondering if it is worth trying to replase the seal around the pittman arm or if i need to just replace the whole power stearing box. if you have any advice please help.

Depends on how many miles on the truck, if you can get a replacement seal kit and how mechanical you are.
Sure worth a try .

I found the seal kit at a local dealer for about $75.00. does that sound about right? are there any special tools needed to pull the old seal or install the new one?

you can probably CAREFULLY pry out the old seal , the problem will be getting the pitman arm off to get at it......you'll need a puller

I know O'Reilly Auto parts has a pitman arm puller in their rental tool section. I imagine most autp parts stores with a similar tool rental program would have also.
