Default Reputable mechanic in Los Angeles Area?

As you all know, it takes a special type of mechanic to properly take care of your Rover... unfortunately, I have learned this the hard way... I am still in search of a reputable, competent and relativley affordable shop in the Los Angeles Area. Do any of you have any sugestions? I am desperate as my beloved Disco is undrivable at this point and as you know or can imagine, nobody walks in LA, and not out of ego, but there is simply no way you can do this and be efficient with your day. Please help. Thank you...

Four Oaks Garage in Santa Monica has been good to me. It's on 7th and Colorado. They have a website too.

I would also vouch for Four Oaks. I brought a clapped out 95 Disco with me to LA from Colorado andFour Oakshelped me keep it together until I finally ditched the Rover for a Lexus (have you ever tried commuting and parkinga manual Disco in Santa Monica.)

Their labor rate was very reasonable and they are just helpful, friendly people all around.

I suspect some day their shop (just a few blocks from the ocean in Santa Monica) will someday be the site of a high rise condo development so get there while you can!

Stay away from Santa Monica Rover. They were horrible and less than honest to say the least.

I have been through at least 4 specialized Rover mechanics since 05' when I bought my first discovery.

If you can make it to the 22 freeway and Brookhurst off ramp in inland OC area, you will not be disappointed.

Union Jack 4X4, the owners name is John Gadd. He has 2 mechanics working for him and is a mechanic himself, plus he drives a rover.

Best prices around with great service. He doesn't try to up sell you and is a straight shooter.

This is his cell phone number:
(714) 719-7123

Good luck
