Default Roof Rack Replacement Key - picture included

I have a 2004 Range Rover with what looks to be a Factory OEM Roof rack with two cross bars. The Cross bars have the Land Rover logo on them with a lock. I am having lots of trouble finding a replacement Key for them. The dealer Says its Thule, but it isn't. The code on the lock is 601, with no letters (called Thule to confirm that it wasn't theirs). Does anyone out there have any insight on this predicament? Thanks much!

It is a very simple lock, and easy to pick, any lock smith, and most mechanics should be able to remove it. Once removed, you can order a new set of lock cylinders and keys, and install them.

Part number for keys/cylinders: VUB002240

That actually looks exactly like a Thule lock cylinder. I wonder if Rover had their own lock series produced by them. Thule makes a blank key for removing and installing their cylinders. They call it a universal change key. If the cylinders are unlocked then they are easily removed using that change key. Might be worth stopping by a Thule dealer to see if they can remove the cylinders. You could then replace the OEM ones with Thule ones.
