Question shimmy problem when hitting a bump at higher speed

My 99 disco 1 sometimes has an intense wheel shimmy when i hit a bump at a higher speed- 50 mph or higher. had the ball swivel checked and a shim removed. now my abs lite sometimes goes on and i feel the abs ( sometimes ) kick in when i brake at a slower speed, like backing out opf my driveway. i know the abs sensor is located in that area that my mechanic fixed. how do we fix that without going to the $$$$$ dealer? help!

The shimmy is unlikely to be caused by ABS issues.
How long ago was the shim taken out? Removing shims to increase the swivel preload is only a temporary fix as the bearings also become worn over time so really the best way do take care of it is a swivel pin rebuild kit.
Worn suspension bushings can also cause "death wobble".

Do not install/replace a steering stabilizer to mask the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! Is a death wobble that horrible steering wheel shake when I hit a bump? the abs thing started after a shim was removed.

Need to look at your wheel bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints and all steering and suspension bushings.
How many miles on the truck, factory or after market suspension? Once you find and fix the real issue, if you are still running a factory steering stabilizer, then it is time to remove it and install an OME.
