Should I buy???
My first, last and only Land Rover was a 1996 Disco - bought new; had it 3 years and taking the other 31 vehicles (Jeeps, Mazdas, Fords, Acuras...) I've owned into consideration... it was the worst vehicle I have ever owned. From bumpers falling off to the dashboard peeling, the top end of the motor coming loose (really - loose!), the t-case failing... Thank GOD it was all covered by warranty. I swore I'd never buy another Rover... But I haven't stopped Wanting one! I just love the damn things!
So, I need some advice and real honest insight... I want an older Range Rover - Pre-95... Like a 94, 93... I think. But I know next to nothing about these things. Jeeps, I know... Rovers... nothing. So, with Jeeps, there are good years, bad years... years to avoid, things to look for when buying, things to expect to fail no matter what year, etc. This is what I really need help from you guys with...
Is a 1994 Range Rover going to cost more to keep on the road than the (seemingly) low purchase price? Was the 95/96 Disco a fluke? I drive about 6,000 miles per year. The Rover will see little to no trail duty (have the CJ for that).
Thanks for any insights you can provide.
