Simple ? I hope...
Rear air intake for sls on '01 disco II:
So I have the tail light off and looking in I see the black cylinder connected to hose connected to smaller black cylinder going down and then underneath truck.
I want to disconnet filter to see if there is blockage because fuse keeps blowing on compressor.
Rave says:
"2. Disconnect filter from retaining peg.
3. Disconnect quick release connection and
remove filter assembly."
How does one disconnect from retaining peg (#2)? Do I just pull or push? Up? Down? Do I just force it or is there some release mechanism?
Sorry for idiotic question but I can't help myself...

RE: Simple ? I hope...
I got the filter/hose out and took it apart. I did notice a few drops of liquid coming out bottom of hose near quick release. Also, both the black foam filter, and especially the white felt filters had absorbed a lot of moisture. The felt pad was frozen solid. I will dry them out, put it back together, and hope that it was the frozen water that blocked the intake and caused fuses to blow.
Fingers crossed.
PS - there is a drain pipe from roof that empties out just above filter in the tail light housing. Who thought of that?

"looks like youre gonna need a compressor"
Actually no. The compressor is fine. Once the weather warms up I will actually reinstall old compressor that I replaced that is also probably fine. The problem all along with the failing rear suspension and blowing fusible links was the blocked air intake. Moisture got into intake filter, froze, and blocked air flow.
That should be the first thing anyone ever checks when rear suspension fails.
