Hi. I loaned my 2004 LR Discovery to Grandson who is leaving Sunday for Parrish Island and the Marine Corps. The LR is sitting in downtown Fredericksburg, VA right now. The battery light is on. This is after engine began to smoke and a screeching sound started from the engine compartment. The LR is normally repaired in Asheville, NC. Any idea what could be happening?? Can't reach my mechanic. Thank you for any suggestions.

 

Screeching? Thoughts go to belt system with a seized accessory, such as the AC compressor, water pump, alternator, etc.

 

Hi. Thank you. AAA finally was able to pick up LR. At garage this morning. I think I am ready to sell the LR. Anyone want it in the Fredericksburg, VA area? haha
