Default Someone HELP PLEASE!!!!

I have a 1996 Range Rover 4.0 SE, and it wont stay running without giving it some gas. If you let go of the gas, it stalls out. It was fine yesterday, and I filled it up with gas last night. Could it possibly be bad gas, or is that just a coincidence? Please, if you have any idea, some insight would be great!!

Thanks,
Justin

Do you have a check engine light, have you checked for a vaccum leak?
Check all your hoses and get back to me.

Well, I checked and there doesnt seem to be any vacuum lines loose. However, I removed the air cleaner cover, and the wire that plugs into it, then put it back together, and it seemed to run a little better. Then I removed the plug on what I think is the air mass flow thing, and it seemed to run even better. Will it hurt anything to run it without those plugged in?

If you run without the MAF pugged in your gas mileage will drop 3 or 4 MPG your engine will carbon up and you can loose a cat. How long has it been since any tune related work has been done on it?

Well after I took the air cleaner apart and the wires on it, I put it all back together and it seems to be running fine. Any thoughts Mike? My first thought is possible bad fuel pump. Don't they work intermittently when they are about to go out?

Still no check engine light? Drive it over the weekend and if it starts acting up, we should talk.

check and see if your throttle cable needs adjustment. I know it seems silly but that together with a mild vacuum leak gives issues your experiencing sometimes without a code. good luck.
