Default New shocks can change your life

replace the front shocks, if they say landrover on them, like mine did on my 96, you can be pretty sure they are the original ones

good luck

Bad shocks are very unlikely to cause wobbly steering.

Thanks for all your replies, even though they all turned out to be very expensive exercises in futility.

Just in case someone stumbles upon this thread, get your wheel balancing checked, TWICE! I, like a dummy, did all these replacements (basically the entire front end, outside of differential) and nothing had changed. Got some new tires, and had them balanced and nothing changed. Got them balanced *again*, and this time, some 21 yr old kid figured out that the rim was bent. The death wobble is mostly gone, although I get a much lighter version on occasion which I will attribute to lesser damage to the other rim. This would also explain my clunking front differential- seems someone took a speed bump or trail just a little too fast.

So, check your wheel balancing! And then check it again!!

Default Death wobble.

I found 2 19mm loose bolts connected to the small steer arm, this is after new track bars & ends, Bearings re- tighten, new rotor, etc.... do the tighten test on all things first! Yeah I wouldn't say shocks, it took me 8 months to find these loose nuts!! Death wobble very bad.
