Still can't find BRAKE SWITCH
#3
So tell me again what your problem was. If it's no brake lights get a test light (probe type}. There should be two wires going into the brake light switch. one is hot and the other goes to your brake lights. Turn on your ignition and test to see if one of the wires has juice going to it. Have someone step on the brake and see if the other wire lights up the test light if not your switch is bad. If you're not able to get someone to help with the brakes. unplug the plug from the brake switch and connect the two posts of the plug together with a piece of wire. If the brake lights come on your switch is bad. If they still don't come on, even with the jumper wire then go back and start checking bulbs and make sure you have a good ground. Usually both brake light bulbs won't go out at the same time but they might. Good luck

Well,
I haven't checked the switch yet, but here is the new development. About every 5th or so attempt to take out of park it works. Or if I hit my fist down on the gear shift area (the section below the shifter, R,N, D area) a couple of times it will work. That doesn't always work but sooner or later it the brake lights work and it is released from park. Go figure. I am just hesitant to take it in when I feel like it should be an easy fix.
Thanks for the help.
