Default stuck hood

O.K. I'm in a bit of a situation. My hood release for my 96 range 4.0 seems to be stuck on one side. Is there a way to manually release it? It does release on the drivers side but is stuck on the passenger not allowing me to open the hood. Any suggestions? Also, my battery is dead and I'm trying to move the vehicle but cant get the hood open to charge or jump battery. For whatever reason it won't let me pull it out of park. Any suggestions on how to move to neutral to at least move the vehicle??? Thanks.

I will ask your question else where in the forum world and see what answer I get. I know with the defender, you just unscrew the front grille and you then have access to the cable. hopefully it will be the same with the rangie.

Reply I got to your question on another forum...

"Didn't know late RR's have twin bonnet catches. Not alot to be done with it other than trying to wiggle it side to side and forward and back until it pops.
To roll the vehicle along just stick the transfer box in neutral. Also, don't know if late RR's are the same as most NA cars. You have to have the key in the ignition and your foot on the brake to get out of park.

Quick update. I removed 2 bottom screws from bottom of grill. Pulled grill back (gently) And took a hanger (hooked the end) and luckily Range Rover provides a hole for access to the cable. I hooked the hook end of the hanger to the cable and pulled releasing the stuck release ****. I haven't found out what is creating the sticky latch yet but at least I have it open. Thanks for the help Lighting90. Helped ease my mind for Christmas.

No problem, this is the big thing about owning a land rover over here in the UK, you are part of a unspoken club where by you help others in trouble and you will receive help in return.
