Default Subwoofer wiring

Hi, I’m a new owner of a 1998 discovery. Can anyone help with this? The subwoofer assembly was removed from the tail gate. I’m left with this connection and I’d like to connect speakers.

First, welcome to the club! You'll get better results posting in the D1 section of the forum.

This should help. The last post is the money shot.

You will need an amplifier. The stock, 15W amp was attached to the back of the speakers. I bought a 250W mono amp and put it in the pocket next to the speakers.

I recommend these drivers...

Thanks for the input, noted about D1 thread.

Luckily I’ve held on to an old mono amplifier that I bought almost 20 years ago.

this may be a question for an audiophile. But how would I go about connecting the inputs from the tailgate to the amp?

Usually you can wire up just one RCA connector. Pin 2 (red wire) is audio +. Pin 3 (black wire) is audio -. Look for very small PIN numbers on the connector. Depending on the amp you may need to split them (make a Y) and wire both RCA connectors.
