Default Tick-Tock in the Dashboard to the LEFT of the Steering Wheel!!!

OK, how about this one:

On our Disco II - 2004 - we are hearing a clock type tick-tocking sound. It appears to be coming from the LEFT side of the dashboard - to the LEFT of the steering wheel when the engine is OFF.

We do have a DIGITAL clock on the far right side of the dashboard. But...

Any ideas.

There is a small fan in that area that is used to pull in air to allow the automatic temperature control for the AC system to know the temperature of the vehicle. Noisy when dirty. There are also relays on the back of the fuse panel. Something may be triggering one of them.

As long as the engine is not ticking when running and warmed up you should be happy.

Or have you got the tow vehicle electrical wired into to operate the Disco rear lights? Per your other post your are flat towing this truck with a motor home?

If it's a ticking noise from the under hood area the WABCO ABS module makes a ticking sound with the engine switched off. At least it appears to come from the module when I have tried to investigate.
