Default transmission hard shift in overdrive

Well I 'm a proud owner of an 1997 Disco 1 with 129,000 miles and need to tap into the wisdom of the Forum. The Disco shifts smooth as butter up until about 50mph and once over 50 when applying accelerator or letting of the gas It shifts hard. Almost like down shifting in a manual. Its nothing like the other gears. Also put the vehicle in low 4WD and every gear shift was abrupt and jolted. Is this normal? I have read about the kick down cable adjustment hear is a picture of the current kickdown cable setting currently. I don't know if that's even the problem.

On a side note: I live in Houston, Is running 15w40 an issue with such mild winters? It barely touches freezing around here.

Current vehicle condition: 129,000 miles, Rotella T 15w/40 oil change, 85w/140 Tcase,M1-301 filter,Tranny fuild is red and seems good, working on the rest of the list. loving every minute of it.

Consider changing the ATF even though your's is read, add a bottle of Lucas tranny additive to help free up the valves.

Default Tranny fluid level

Thanks for the advice disco Mike. This is my first rover just picked it up last week.

Ok After a bottle of lucas oil and and 4qrts of Maxlife ATF. the rover seems to be shifting the same. I do have a question on checking the fluid level. the Manual calls for a cold car at idle in Neutral, and should be between the Hi and low dots. So far it seems to be just above the high Dot. Is this the correct way to read the fluid level?
