Default tyres

thinking of changing my bfg all terrains for mud terrains is there much difference between the two or is it worth while

Depends on the type of driving you are expecting to do and the weather you will be driving in.
A mud tire will not handle as well in the snow and ice as a all terrain tire.

Also, if you do a lot of highway driving, the BFG M/T are more noisy. Not bad at low speed.
