Default Wanting to change gear ratio for better cruising speed and mpgs.

I recently got my hands on a second Discovery 2 for extremely cheap, and rebuilt the engine with spare parts. For this one, I was wondering if it were possible to mess with the diff gear ratio or transfer case ratio or something else. To try and make this one more efficient for highway driving. This one would probably never see any off-roading. I know I could just look for something already set up for efficient highway driving. But it wouldn’t be a discovery 2. If anyone has any knowledge of gear ratios or has attempted something similar, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Everything on it would be stock, stock height, stock rims and tires. Right now I seem to be able to cruise at 70ish mph with not-so-good mpgs. I’m aiming for being able to cruise at 80mph at the lowest rpm possible.

Basically nothing you can do. Research more information on why in the Disco 2 forum instead of this general one.
