I searched forums and found water leaks relatively common - either from sunroof drain or windshield. This morning when driving down steep driveway, water poured into vehicle via seat belt shoulder straps on both sides.

This seems to be the 'sunroof' leak. I did not see instructions on how to deal with this (clear drain).

Please advise...

PS - 3 amigos cleared last week but now srs light is on...

 

Not anthing I have seen as far as aprocedure for this, but you have to pull your headliner and check the drain tubes. YOu can try blowing low pressure air through the drains first, being careful no to blow them off...

Did you "clear" your 3 amigo's by disconnecting the battery? SRS codes will come up on a low voltage situation. Has to be cleared by sommeone with a Rover scanner....

Hello I'm not wanting to sound stupid but MY disco is also suffering the "SUNROOF LEAK " can you possibly tell me how and where did you start to take down the headlining at , I have an electric sunroof have you the same ? any info you can remember would be great.

So for the benefit off all here goes:

Remove trim panel at top back of interior next to rear door - prise four or five spring clips out with screw driver take care of little plastic covers that rotate for 3rd row head rests is fitted.

Remover top c and d piller trims - has about 6 plastic clips that pull out - screw driver shaft either side of head does this. 2 fastenning are screws. Take 3 rd row seat belt plastic surround bits out of trim - these slot in, remove 3rd row seat belt bolts so belt and buckel passes through trim. Unbolt grap handle, prise out alarm sensor and disconnet - take trims out.

Remove B pillar top trim - two push fit clips at top to prise out, remove rubber door seal from back of front door and front of rear door then unclip the two front and two rear clips, remove seat belt fixing to seat so trim can be removed.

Unscrew sunvisors and disconnect. Unscrew top storage slots about ten screws, take out front light, prise cover off and remove two nuts, prise out plastic cover infront of light (closest to windscreen) and remove screw - the storage slots should then come out.

Remove A-pillar trims - prise out three spring clips behind trim, disconnect tweeters if fitted.

Unbolt four grab handles.

Remove rear load space light cover unbolt light and disconnect

Remove centre light cover (if not already broken!) unbolt light and disconnect.

Remove sunroof switch for rear sunroof it fitted and remove screw

At this stage the headlining should IIRC drop down. Get help to remove headlining through rear door, you will need to 'bend' the front part to get it out - take care!

Now you can get to the sunroofs. Mine was simply the drain that was broken but if the plastic outer trim of the sunroof is badly distorted on the roof I believe you will need a new sunroof - with the headlining removed this looks easy to do.

I actually sealed round the 'tray' of each sunroof and support all the drains with copious amounts of silicon sealant.

In the words of the Haynes manual - refitting is simply the reverse of the removal!

Took me about 1.5 to 2 hours to remove and the same to put it all back.

Regarding 3 amigos - the indy mechanic cleared them and its been a week. I didn't touch battery.

 

I sealed them with Sikaflex they dont leak now
