Default Wife's 98 Disco. A little help!

We’ve driven my wife’s 98 Disco for about 125 miles and the water pump went out already. The steering is sluggish in returning to dead straight and the tail gate has a leak at the top. Are these common problems with easy solutions? The water pump was easy to remove and the belt has cracks on the inside. It doesn’t feel as soft as it should. Replace or not, but have a spair just in case?

How many miles on this truck? What sort of maintance has it been getting?
Replace the belt and if still allows the p/s to slip, consider changing the tensioner and both idlers.

Default Wife's 98 Disco. A little Help.

Mike,
Thank for getting back to me so quick.
The Truck has 87000k mi. Remember that she got it at an Auction for $4800. Without any records of maintence. We looked up online about the hits on the title and came up with the previous owner who had it for a very short time and lost it back to the bank??? Hence the Auction.

Well, all you can do is work on the current issues and then start getting it current when you can.
Let me know if the p/s changes.
