Default Window Regulators Done Right!!!

So after several hours in the hardware store and just as much on the bench, I finally found a permanent solution to paying obscene cash for regulators just because of shoty rollers. With only 3 different parts, a file, drill, small hack saw and a drill bit I came up with a permanent and re-fixable solution. It only cost me about 2 dollars a roller and some elbow grease and oh yeah its re-fixable! If one breaks all it will cost you is a new nylon washer worth about 70 cents at most hardware stores. I first filed down the lip at the end of the stud so that it was flush, then I drilled out the threads of the metal collar and cut to the size of the stud on the regulator. Next I drilled the hole for the roll pin and installed the washer on the collar and then on the stud. This method worked the best for me! Some white lithium grease and re-installation and its money! Hope this works well for you guys!

Good write up. But I took a different path that snaps around the stud without the drilling out, etc. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ight=regulator

Yeah actually I wanted to try that at first but Home Depot did not carry the slides anymore. At least this way the parts will always be available.
