just recently replaced my exterior windshield a-pillar trim or es bc their weather stripping had deteriorated—leaving no seal on the windshield.
ordered new a-pillar form pieces (both sides). Passenger side goes on: nice and snug. Like a breeze.
driver side however, likes to blow off driving down the interstate now. Nothing I can do (short of some industrial gluing bodge job…which I won’t do) snugs it down and keeps it on.
am I to simply to live with it like this? It’s my daily and has been for years.
worth noting: metal body a-pillar pieces underneath apparently have some rubber seal job (which I believe was form dealership at some point??? Can someone verify this?) I’m not the original owner and no paperwork of it.
there was a plastic + piece on the OEM trim piece that had been dremel’d off apparently to get OEM A-pillar trim piece to fit. Was advised to do the same by my local LR specialist as I do the install myself.
Who has the solution???
im reluctant to simply buy another trim piece only to be left in the same predicament immediately thereafter. First rubber seal, possible dealer job at some point? Plastic + tab that was dremel’d off on OEM trim piec bc the original + tab wouldn’t fit into the rubber seal job. Lower rubber seal job by dealer(??) has hole in it that allows trim piece to slide. Kinda.
