Ok I need some advice please. Have an 04 LR2 4.6 an it launched an oil pump an blew out the cover. A new OEM cover is just insanely priced! But a OEM used cover isn't cheap but I'm worried it will have wear an grooving that won't make for a long life for the new pump I'll put ín it. An the new aftermarket ones come complete with oil pump and gaskets. I'm not a fan of aftermarket parts. Especially when it is involving the oiling of the motor. Any one in here have input on a new aftermarket cover an oil pump will it work out just fine?

The LR2 was not made in 2004. First model year was 2008. THAT'S the kind of ? question that is.

 

Do you mean a 2004 Freelander? That's the closest pre-2006 car to an LR2.

Freelander series 2 started in 2006, the same car was marketed as the LR2 in some countries starting in 2008.

If so, an don't take this wrong. LR2's do not come with a V8 engine and you never said anything about a V8 until just now. You're just in the wrong forum. True big boys just get over it and move to the right forum.
