Default 04 LR2 timing cover 4.6

Ok I need some advice please. Have an 04 LR2 4.6 an it launched an oil pump an blew out the cover. A new OEM cover is just insanely priced! But a OEM used cover isn't cheap but I'm worried it will have wear an grooving that won't make for a long life for the new pump I'll put ín it. An the new aftermarket ones come complete with oil pump and gaskets. I'm not a fan of aftermarket parts. Especially when it is involving the oiling of the motor. Any one in here have input on a new aftermarket cover an oil pump will it work out just fine?

First of all, how did you obtain a *2004* LR2?

For the part, use car-parts.com

The LR2 was not made in 2004. First model year was 2008. THAT'S the kind of ? question that is.

Do you mean a 2004 Freelander? That's the closest pre-2006 car to an LR2.

Freelander series 2 started in 2006, the same car was marketed as the LR2 in some countries starting in 2008.

ok well I'm not Land Rover specialist. My GF bought it over a year ago, an since has moved on to a different vehicle. Well it is absolutely perfect an I fell in love with it an how solid it was. An what I know is it is a 2004 Land Rover Discovery ll so because of your question, I'm assuming that's not called a LR2 then? Lmao I feel dumb! So what is the correct term for the vehicle I have?

That's an entirely different vehicle with its own discussion forum. Definitely not an LR2.

great, now I really feel stupid. But tell me this, wouldn't the 4.6 V8 that's in my Land Rover still be the same 4.6 V8 in any land Rover ? Therefore subject to the same oil pump problem? If so, an don't take this wrong. But why couldn't anyone in here just simply let me know in the beginning I was on the wrong forum instead of asking me questions to make me look even more dumb than I had appeared. You all know what time it is, I don't an I'm sure it was obvious. Now I'm a big Ford Buff build an race as well as Harley Davidsons. I've forgot more than the average garage Harley guy or ford guy knows. An I run on forums, o help people not try an make them look stupid to the rest of the group. That's not what this **** is about. An I right? When I see someone that's obviously not got a clue, I try an get details from him an give my best help. Not make him appear dumb. My feelings ain't hurt one bit, I'm a big boy and don't give a **** really. But I'm just saying, you as a senior member should try an be more helpful instead of trying to look like your who wrote the book on land Rover. You could have just saved alot of back an forth an just told me I was in the wrong house

LR2's do not come with a V8 engine and you never said anything about a V8 until just now. You're just in the wrong forum. True big boys just get over it and move to the right forum.
